“Real Life in His Name” Bible Study – Some Info and a Giveaway!

I recently completed a Bible study on the Gospel of John. The workbook and teaching videos have been available for several months on this blog under the “Resources” and “Videos” tabs. The videos will stay put, but on March 31 the materials will no longer appear on the resources page. Instead, I have a brand new, re-formatted version with a pretty new cover available for purchase on my website. Here’s a brief description:

In this nine-week study of the Gospel of John Aprile combines a thorough explanation of the history, context, and meaning of each passage with plenty of personal application to help you “marinate” in the rich, life-changing truths of this incredible, one-of-a-kind account of Jesus’ life and ministry. There are ten teaching sessions that go along with the workbook, which makes it a great study for small groups. The 235 page workbooks comes 3-hole punched and shrink wrapped with a beautiful cover. You supply the three-ring binder.

To purchase a copy/copies, click here.

If you have already begun the study and you/your group is accessing the materials on the blog, shoot me an e-mail (aprile@aprilesweers.com) and I will make sure you have all of the files you need to complete your study free of charge.

Here’s the fun part: If you would like to win a copy of the study, leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite name, title, characteristic, or adjective describing Jesus. (Examples: Savior, Bread of Life, Lamb of God) You have up until Thursday at midnight to comment. I will randomly select a winner this Friday, March 16th.

  1. Karen Schoenfeld says

I was struggling with whether to say Prince of Peace or Giver of Life. They are both so meaningful to me right now as I care for my terminally ill parents. His peace within me is truly beyond my comprehension……definitely that which passes all understanding (most days). It could be nothing else but His Peace and His Life when life is suddenly turned upside down and doesn’t exist any more as I’ve always known it. In recent years and more specifically in recent months, my knowing Him as Giver of Life has gone way beyond knowing that I have been born again and have a home in heaven. Beyond knowing the very resurrected life of Christ lives within me and that life eternal began the moment I was saved. Beyond the profound truths that I was blessed to hear about in your recent and amazingly powerful “Real Life in Jesus” Bible study. Now…..His life and my life have merged in a way I hadn’t yet experienced, bringing about the ability for me to go beyond any place I imagined “I” could go. Giving in ways only He could do, and doing so cheerfully without counting the cost (again, most days). Experiencing His power and His life in this way has not only increased my faith but also revealed how self focused and un-Christ like much of my Christian life is. He has always been Giver of Life to me…..but it’s differnet now in the “doing”….not just the “knowing”. Doing what I would have never chosen and in the place of suffering that I don’t want to be in, that I am truly blessed. He really is the Giver of Life to me and in me…….thank you Jesus!
Thank you Aprile for your faithfullness to serve Him and for the encouragement I receive through this blog and your Bible studies.

    • Karen, all I can say is “wow!” Your words about Jesus are so beautiful and it’s so obvious they flow from a heart that really, really loves Him and has been through some “stuff” with Him. My eyes got a little bit misty reading them! I am so very thankful that the Lord has connected us through Debbie. You are a blessing and the Lord seems to nug you to comment or e-mail at just the right times, when I need to hear what you have to say the most. As the only one who commented (this blog humbles me yet again! 🙂 ), you are the winner of the re-vamped Bible study workbook. E-mail me your address and I will send it your way. (aprile@aprilesweers.com) You will love the new look!
