Did you laugh when you read the comment on Mary and “bitter?” I pray that through my pain I can learn to give it to God. I feel like I have been becoming numb to everything going on with Abby and starting to shut everything out. Please pray for me with that. I just have so much pain. I have good days and bad days. Today was a bad day. I took Abby to get her teeth cleaned and I was in snail traffic for an hour getting to the appt. Late to the appt. Had to reschedule for an hour later. Then, they held Abby down screaming and cleaned her teeth. My shoe broke on the way out! What a day! 🙁 Thanks for everything you do! 🙂

    • Kara,

The dentist fiasco sounds terrible, and I hate that you had such a bad day. And to top it off, you broke your shoe?! Oh no! I’m sure sometimes you feel like the WRONG person to be Abby’s mom, but let me be the millionth person to remind you that God knew exactly what He was doing when He formed her in YOUR womb and sovereignly chose you to be the one to care for her, clean up after her, love on her, cry tears over her, train her, and the hundreds of other things you do. In 2 Chron 20:12 Jehoshaphat prays these words: “We have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. we do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.” I know you aren’t going into battle against a vast army like he was, but you are definitely fighting a daily battle. I know you are at a point where you have no idea what to do, but KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE LORD and I KNOW He will sustain you. Mintute by minute. Step by step. Have you checked to see if any churches in your area have a ministry to parents of children will special needs? It sounds like you could really benefit from being around other moms who deal with the same stuff you do and are seeking to honor the Lord in the way they serve their families. There’s something special about connecting with a fellow sister in Christ who really gets what you are going through and has encouragement to offer. I am praying God gives you a connection like that. I’m glad we get to connect here. Praying for you to sense God’s sweet presence and experience His perfect provision today, friend.

      Love,
      Aprile
