Book Club: Twelve Extraordinary Women, Video 1

Okay ladies, here it is! It ended up being about 10 minutes longer than I expected or wanted it to be. I will work on keeping it under 30 minutes in the future, since this is the no-stress book club for busy women and all. Hope you are enjoying the book so far and DON’T forget to make this a little more like a true book CLUB by commenting either here or on the Marinate Bible Study Facebook page. Can’t wait to hear from you!

  1. Awesome! Here we go! So looking forward to this!
    Thank-you!!!

  2. I am overwhelmed right now! My favorite quote: “Eve was created to be the pure and pristine ideal of womanhood, but she soon spoiled it by sinning. Still, she, too, became a living depiction of the truth that God can recover and redeem those who fall-and make them truly extraordinary trophies of His grace in spite of their failures.” The last 8 years of my life have been a ride to say the least, and I have not been living like I should for God. Outward sins are just a portrayal of what is really going on inside. I need God to transform my life again for Him. I am tired of “wasting” my time playing life. I want Him to recover and redeem me.

    • Wow Kara! I love that quote too! So, so excited that God is ALREADY using the truths in this book to refresh and challenge you. He’s doing the same with me, for sure. I have plenty of “inside” stuff that needs some cleaning out myself. What a blessing to do this with you even though we are miles apart!

    • ~ Kara Farr ~. I could not agree with you more, about your favorite quote;
      it is also one of my favorites. So much so, I made an index card with this very Quote on it. To remind myself & to be able to re-read it over and over.

      “Eve was created to be the pure and pristine ideal of womanhood, but she soon spoiled it by sinning. Still, she, too, became a living depiction of the truth that God can recover and redeem those who fall-and make them truly extraordinary trophies of His grace in spite of their failures.”

    Thank you for doing this book! I really struggle in finding self worth, and have sinned so badly in my past, forgiving myself has been one of my biggest challenges. Just knowing that women of the bible, struggled with the same sins, we are struggling with, is in itself encouraging. I am my own worst judge, and am very hard on myself, and I hope that by reading this, I will be able to learn to let go and let God deal with me and my life. I want to quit judging myself by the world’s standard of what a Christian should be, and start judging myself by God’s work in my life. I tend to live my life based upon what others think of me, and need to learn it’s what God thinks of me, that matters. Not my outwardly appearance, but my beautiful heart. I tend not to have many friends, and do most of my studying online, through the live services and now this wonderful online blog, because I feel that I’m not worthy enough to be with other believers, I will let them down in one way or another and will be judged because of it. I’m hoping that reading this book, will help me realize that all women suffer from many of the same sins, and choices in their lives, and I should not be ashamed of my past, but be very lucky of my future! It’s my past that God has dealt with, that has made me the extraordinary woman I am becoming!

    • I am so thankful for your honesty! I really hope that many, many women read your your comment, because that struggle to really embrace and live out our identiy in Christ is such a common one (yet we tend to buy into the lie that we’re the only one!). I love the quote that Kara shared in her comment about Eve: “She, too, became a living depiction of the truth that God can recover and redeem those who fall-and make them truly extraordinary trophies of His grace in spite of their failures.” I am praying for the Lord to grant you new eyes to see yourself as He does and that you would be SET FREE to ENJOY being an active part of the body of Christ. Satan would love nothing more than for us to be a bunch of born-again spectators, sitting idle in the handicapped section, believing we are too “this” or too “that” to be of any use to God. Every single one of the women in our book is going to SHOUT at us that nothing could be further from the truth!!! So, so, so glad you are doing this with me and PLEASE keep on sharing! You will never know how are encouraged by a simple comment on a little blog!

    • Cindy, Thank you so very much for sharing with me this wonderful gift. I will never be able to express how much it means to me. To have been given this opportunity to sit down and learn daily about our Lord & Savior.
      Thank you again for passing on the information about this truly special blog.
